Intense ruby red with garnet hues. On the nose the aromas are complex, notes of red fruits, sweet spices like cannelle and licorice, closing with slight vanilla hints. On the palate it is full-bodied, great consistency, a return of elegant fruit, dry, decisive and tannic, persistent finish

After a long maceration and 18/24 months aging in barrique (1st step), Montepulciano finds its maximum complexity. Negus is one of the company’s flagship reds, certainly a great wine, defined by many as “competition”, it is produced in limited quantities, making a careful selection in the best vineyards of the estate.

Why Negus?

Properly “Sovereign”, as was the austere figure of his maternal grandfather (by Nazario D’Onofrio) who lived through the events of the African war; hence a wine which is the master.

The mild but hard land where the harshness of the mountains matches with the peace of the sea is the setting where our company originated by representing our rural family’s cult and tradition. The view of sunny and luxuriant vineyards and olive trees located in the south of our hill and around 300 meters from the sea has been excited every member of my family for sixty years. I really thank my father for all of that. Every year, harsh winters and hot summers give us wonderful grapes creating a handcrafted wine packed in hand numbered bottles. Such grapes express the love we feel for our land and our passion for what we do.
